Privacy policy; Dumpling Pals

What we collect

Nothing.

The app has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no tracking of any kind, and no third-party service that transmits data. It never asks your child to type their name: pet names are chosen by tapping one of a fixed list of suggestions, so there is no free-text entry anywhere in the app that could capture personal information.

What is stored on your device

Your child's progress is saved locally, using standard Android app storage:

• the pet's name (chosen from our fixed list), species and appearance
• care progress; hunger, energy, cleanliness, happiness, age and life stage
• coins, decorations, stickers, trophies and mini-game high scores
• your notification preferences and quiet hours
• whether Dumpling Plus has been purchased

This data never leaves the device by any action of ours. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Android backup

Android's own Auto Backup feature may copy the app's saved data to the Google Drive account of the device owner; that is, your own Drive. This is an Android platform feature controlled by your device settings, not by us, and we never receive or access that backup. Its purpose is so a child does not lose their pal when changing phones.

You can turn it off under Settings → Google → Backup.

Purchases

Dumpling Pals offers one optional purchase, Dumpling Plus, which unlocks additional mini-games and decorations. It is a one-time purchase; not a subscription, and there is no recurring charge.

• Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details.
• The purchase screen sits behind a parental gate; a multiplication question intended to be answerable by an adult rather than a young child. A child cannot reach the payment flow alone.
• Google's terms and refund process apply to the transaction.

Internet access

The app requests internet permission because Google Play Billing requires it to verify a purchase. The game itself does not use the network. It is fully playable offline and makes no requests to any server operated by us, because no such server exists for this app.

Notifications

With your permission, the app can post gentle reminders about the pet; that it is hungry, for example. These are generated on the device; nothing is sent to or from a server.

In the app's grown-up area you can choose how much the app may tell you about, turn notifications off entirely, and set quiet hours during which nothing is posted. You can also revoke the permission at any time in Android's settings.

Children's privacy

Dumpling Pals is designed for children and is intended to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and the GDPR provisions concerning children's data.

Because the app collects no personal information at all, there is nothing for us to disclose, sell, share, or delete on request. There is no advertising of any kind, and therefore no personalised or interest-based advertising to children.

Third parties

The app bundles open-source software libraries, which run entirely on the device and transmit nothing. Their licences are listed inside the app, in the grown-up area.

Aside from Google Play Billing; used only when a purchase is made; and Android's own platform services, no third party receives any data from this app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date above will change. If a future version of the app ever collects data, we will say so here before that version ships, and seek your consent where the law requires it.
